TWH Plumbing and Electric was founded in February 2003 by owner Tim Handford in an effort to realize his dream of providing friendly, personal and prompt service to customers though out the Greenville area. In the last 6 years TWH has grown quickly from a single one man operation to a multiple technician company.
Message from the Owner
Hello,
My name is Timothy Walter Handford, owner and founder of T.W.H Plumbing and Electric. I have been doing Plumbing and Electrical work since February 2000. I began my career working for Corley Plumbing and Electric, where I received most of my training in the field. With the many technicians this employer had on staff, I was well trained in most every situation. From the commercial to the residential, I learned quickly how to listen to the customer and diagnose the problem by asking the right questions and looking for the right answers. After two years, I attended Greenville Technical College where I received training in Basic Electricity, AC/DC circuits, Motor Controls, National Electric Code and Residential and Commercial wiring. I went on to receive my Journeyman Electrician's license. I, also, went to Bond's Career Center where I received my technical training for the International Plumbing Code. After completing the course I received my Journeyman Plumber's license. I worked another two years in the field and took more tests and preparation classes. I then received my Master Plumber's, and Master Electrician's license. When I left Corley, I tried out Ken's Plumbing and Hester Electrical, before deciding to start my own business.
When I first started the business in February 2003, I began by passing out brochures to friends or businesses, and placing flyers in the Greenville News or on mail boxes. Steven Banks, a friend of mine I knew from Corley, had been working on his own for a while. We would team up together and help each other out from time to time. When he was slow, he would let me work with him, and vice versa. In October 2003, the business was first made public to the Yellow Pages. I realized, after talking with customers every day, how much they enjoyed the personal touch that I gave. Not only did the customers like me but I liked them. I enjoyed working with customers and fixing the problem myself. I felt good when a customer was pleased and wanted to refer me to their friends.
TWH has come far since I founded it six years ago. Now, even though it is not just me in the field any more, I still strive to ensure my customers receive the same dedicated and personal service that I built this company on. I always try to listen to the customer's concerns, questions and problems. I want to make sure that TWH offers the best solution by diagnosing and asking the right types of questions to always bring a positive solution.
